Photograph of Prince Albert's tomb inside the Royal Mausoleum, Frogmore in Windsor Home Park. The Prince's effigy is in the middle of the picture, supported on winged angels with a single wreath supported against the side of the tomb. Porticos built into the walls enclose statues and a window designed in the Romanesque style, is in the background. Frescos decorate the walls.
The interior walls of the mausoleum are made from red marble from Portugal and both the Prince and the Queen's effigies, which were made at the same time, were designed by Carlo Marochetti. The building's principal architectural style is Romanesque and the building was consecrated in December 1862 with final fixtures and fitting being completed in 1871.Provenance
