Photograph of a dead stag laid out beside a building. The stag was shot by Prince Albert (1819-61) at Craig Daiegn. The caption indicates the stag weighed 16 stone and 6 pounds and is posed 'as he fell'.
In her diary for 20 September 1850, Queen Victoria writes: 'Drove with Affie, to meet Albert, whom we found walking near Invergelder, having killed another fine stag, which soon followed. We walked home together.'Provenance
