Glass plate negative featuring four full-length portraits of John Cole (d.1869), Head Keeper at Windsor Great Park. The top two images were taken outdoors, while the bottom two at the photographer's studio.
John Cole was appointed Head Keeper in July 1839.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection, however variants of the bottom two are represented by RCINs 2914398 and 2910325-6.Provenance
