Photograph of a painting of a half length portrait of woman, facing three-quarters to the left. She turns her head slightly and gazes at the viewer. She wears an elaborate lace collar.
The painting is attributed to Sir Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) and was once thought to be a portrait of his first wife, Isabella Brant (1591-1626). The painting was lent to the 1857 Manchester Exhibition by Queen Victoria (1819-1901), and remains in the Royal Collection (RCIN 400118). The work is currently on display at Hampton Court.Provenance
