Photograph of a painting of a half length portrait of Lady Margaret Wotton, Marchioness of Dorset (1487-1541) standing, facing a quarter to the right. She gazes ahead, away from the viewer. She holds her hands together in front of her waist. She wears a head covering known as a gable hood, multiple necklaces, multiple rings and a ermine lined cloak. A number on a piece of paper, largely obscured, can be seen in the lower left corner.
At the time of the photograph, the painting was attributed to Hans Holbein the Younger (c.1497-1543). The work is now believed to have been created by a follower of Holbein.Provenance
