A tall rectangular walnut veneered cabinet in two parts; the front covered with 'seaweed' marquetry in walnut and box. Moulded cornice above two bevelled glazed doors, shelves within; lower stage with two cupboard doors and shelves; bracket feet.
Provenance
From Jensen's accounts of 24 July 1693, this piece may be '...a glass case of fine markatree upon a Cabinett with doors for Kensington, £30' headed 'For her Mats use att Kensington'. In the Duchess of Albany's rooms in the late nineteenth century. Brought to Windsor Castle from Kensington Palace at the request of Queen Mary in 1938
