A sword or talwar with a European steel blade and a gold hilt, knuckleguard and circular pommel inlaid with diamonds, rubies and emeralds. The red velvet covered wooden scabbard embellished with gold openwork mounts inset with rubies, emeralds and diamonds arranged in a floral pattern.
Provenance
Presented to King Edward VII, when Prince of Wales, during his tour of India in 1875-76 by Raghubir Singh, Raja of Jhind. During the tour, the Prince invested the Raja of Jhind with the Order of the Star of India.
