This volume of collects (prayers) has a frontispiece depicting 'Faith extending her influence over the world' by Thomas Henry Gregg (active 1824-72). Gregg was a portrait artist and painter of genre subjects, who exhibited at the Royal Academy several times between 1834 and 1872.
It is inscribed on the flyleaf: 'To the Queen's most excellent Majesty and To His Royal Highness The Prince Albert This Manuscript is humbly presented by the Author, who subscribes himself her Majesty's most devoted and loyal subject Alexr Watford'.
