Following the death of Prince Albert in 1861, this catalogue of his book collection at Buckingham Palace was drawn up. While some books from this collection were sent to the Royal Library at Windsor Castle in 1898, Albert's library remained almost entirely in situ until Queen Victoria's death in 1901.
