Worn for the wedding of Princess Alexandra and the Hon. Angus Ogilvy on 24 April 1963 at Westminster Abbey. Hartnell’s eau-de-nil ensemble reflects the style of the era with three-quarter length sleeves, an edge-to-edge coat and embroidery in the form of lily-of-the valley. The silk flowers highlighted with pearls are repeated on Mirman’s striking hat.
