Press visits

Press visits to the official residences can be arranged through Royal Collection Trust's Press Office for media who review, feature or write on the arts, heritage and travel. Limited press tickets are available, and we unfortunately cannot provide free press tickets to all those who request them.

Press visits must be arranged with a minimum of two working days' notice by submitting a Press Visit Application Form.

Due to exceptionally high levels of interest, we are not able to supply any press tickets for the Summer Opening of Buckingham Palace or for Exclusive Guided Tours at the royal residences.

We hold dedicated Press Views for every exhibition, please contact the Press Office for more information.

Please note:

  • When requesting a press visit, please outline details of your commission or planned feature.
  • Please check the Visit pages for opening dates and times before requesting a visit.
  • Once we have responded on availability and booked your timed slot, an order number and e-ticket will be emailed directly to you. Please check your junk/spam folders.
  • Once your time slot has been confirmed, we are unfortunately unable to change the timings.
  • Press tickets are limited to one ticket per media outlet and we are unable to accommodate plus ones. Additional tickets can be purchased from the Visit pages of the website.
  • Press photography is not permitted at any of the royal residences. To request images for editorial use, please contact the Press Office.
  • We are unable to offer press tickets during the final two weeks of an exhibition.
  • Presentation of a press card on arrival will not allow free entry at The King’s Galleries or the royal residences, and it will not be possible to provide entry to those who have not arranged a press ticket in advance.

The income from your ticket contributes directly to The Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity. The aims of The Royal Collection Trust are the care and conservation of the Royal Collection, and the promotion of access and enjoyment through exhibitions, publications, loans and educational activities.
