In September 2018, Michael Jibson, the award-winning actor who plays King George III in the London staging of the musical, Hamilton, visited the Royal Library at Windsor Castle to view a selection of the documents held in the Royal Archives relating to the King.

This visit was arranged as part of the Georgian Papers Programme, a partnership between the Royal Archives and King’s College London, and primary U.S. partners the Omohundro Institute and William & Mary.

The project aims to make the papers and documents that relate to the Georgian period, which are physically held in the Round Tower of Windsor Castle, more accessible and available to a worldwide audience by digitising over 425,000 papers over a 10-year period.
